The Feyoh collection is a series of rust-dyed textiles. Using our proprietary techniques, each design was created by wrapping and exposing various fabrics to found, iron objects. Typically, these objects are hand-sourced from scrap yards and the remains of industrial and architectural structures found within our hometown.
Rust dyeing refers to the transfer of corrosion onto fabric by using a balanced combination of oxygen and moisture. Oxidation cures the impressions within the fibers creating abstract outlines and patterns. The name Feyoh refers to an abstract play on words for the scientific formal of this reaction: 4Fe + 3O2 + 6H2O → 4Fe(OH)3. This bold series is intended to elegantly redefine traditional motifs while bridging the gap between masculinity and femininity.
